Doug Meyer turned his New York client’s guest room into a luxurious, monochromatic, mid-century fantasia, with a bedspread trimmed in red caterpillar fringe that echoes the texture of the red flokati rug and unites the room’s bold palette.

SWEET DISPOSITION

Vintage coverlets and canopies in crisp white lend an old-fashioned airiness to a second-floor Lake Tahoe bedroom, where Palmer Weiss enhanced the space’s treehouse effect by covering walls and ceiling in a custom green-and-white floral.

LAYING LOUCHE

In a historic Sag Harbor house by Anna Karlin Studio, a bedspread and blanket in shades of flax puddle gently on the floor, adding softness and sensuality to the rough-hewn woodwork and white walls.

DIRECTIONAL THINKING

Designed by Joy Moyler, a bedspread in Schumacher’s Antique Ticking Stripe is tailor-made to fit just so, with a shirred skirt that just reaches the floor. A horizontal border highlights its graceful folds.
