Go Inside Brigette Romanek’s Los Angeles Home

For this top designer, there are no rules.

Brigette Romanek has never been one for hard-and-fast rules. Long before she became one of Hollywood’s most in-demand interior designers, she recalls, “We were looking for someone [to decorate] our first home, and a lot of people that I was interviewing were telling me how I should do things. I kept thinking, why?” So she took matters into her own hands: “I just decided I was going to put pieces in and do things that made me happy!”

That ethos has served her well in both the design world (her star-studded client list includes the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé, and Demi Moore) and in her own 1920s Los Angeles home, where she lives with her two daughters and two dogs. The airy space is layered with eclectic pieces that embody her “Gucci-meets-Gap” design philosophy—think museum-quality art next to a prototype chair found in a secondhand store alongside a CB2 plinth. As she puts it, not everything has to be expensive, but it does have to be premium—and anything can be premium if it makes you feel good!
