Designer Ulla Johnson.
Weston WellsSince launching her namesake label in 1998, New York–born designer Ulla Johnson has become known for pieces that blend bohemian romance and urban ease, from hand-embroidered blouses and sculptural accessories to dresses that feel equal parts refined and free-spirited. The daughter of archaeologists, Johnson’s collections are informed by a global perspective and a commitment to artisanal techniques. (In fact, she often collaborates with craftspeople around the world to preserve centuries-old methods, while reimagining them for the modern woman.) With a passion for travel, style, and the small luxuries of everyday life, Johnson curates her world with a collector’s eye.
Here, she shares a few of the objects and inspirations that bring her joy.
