It’s hard to believe that designer Windsor Smith‘s own house in Mandeville Canyon, California was once, as she puts it, “certifiably the least attractive home in the neighborhood.” Nestled behind giant sycamore trees, the sprawling property—complete with a luxurious pool, tennis court and verdant lawn—won over Smith, who applied her famous eye for tranquil palettes, flowing rooms and layered interiors to transform the house into a well-loved family home.
